Grant Formula for Distribution

Grant money given out each year is made possible from two endowed funds held by the foundation and invested with First National Bank and Investment in Sioux Falls. The Community Healthcare Fund and the Community Grant Fund
  • We review the quarterly average from the previous 16 quarters.
  •  The 16 previous quarter’s “average” return is then slotted into:
                          1. Negative to zero return 3.5% distribution
                          2.
Zero to 5% return 4.0% distribution
                          3.
5% to 7% return 4.5% distribution
                          4.
7% + return 5.0% distribution
  • The gifting distribution is then recommended to the full board by the Finance Committee using a percentage of the fund balance on December 31st  of the previous year.  This distribution is then divided in half for each fund with the first half given out in April and second half in October of each year.
