Grant Review Process

Grant applications are accepted throughout the year but are reviewed semi-annually. Application deadlines are March 31 and September 30.

The Grant Review Committee reviews all applications. An interview in our office will be conducted with a representative from the applying organization to share info and answer questions regarding the application.  At the Committee’s discretion, a site visit may be requested as part of the proposal evaluation process.  The Executive Director will contact the requesting organization during the proposal analysis if the Board of Directors has any questions to be answered.

Grant Award Procedures

Upon making a grant, the Executive Director, on behalf of the Board of Directors, will send a grant award packet to the grantee. The Board of Directors also ask that you help promote the Foundation using visual signage (see below). The packet will contain the following items:

Award Letter

Grant award letter indicating the Board’s positive response to the request and the amount awarded.

Grant Agreement

Grant Agreement to be signed and returned promptly to the Foundation by the grantee.  The Grant Agreement outlines the mutual responsibilities of both the grantor and the grantee to measure the success of the program.  When the grantee returns the signed original Grant Agreement to the Foundation along with copies of invoices or other proof of purchase, the appropriate portion of the grant award check will be sent promptly to the grantee.  Terms of the grant are for a time limit of 6 months unless LACF is otherwise notified by the grantee that an extension is needed.

Guidelines for
Preparing Progress Report

Guidelines for Preparing Progress Reports (if applicable).  The Foundation requires grantees to file a final report on the use of the grant award.  These guidelines explain the programmatic and financial information that should be included in the reports.

Help promote the Luverne Area Community Foundation

Picture
We ask that you promote the Foundation's support in any interview or publication your project may receive.  We also ask that appropriate visual signage is attached to the project recognizing the foundations partnership with your organization and its project.  This helps others connect with what the foundation can do for potential future projects. If we can help provide logos or graphics to make this possible, please ask us, we are happy to help!
