“Give what you have.
To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.”

~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Celebrating our History

With its beginning as the Luverne Community Health Care Foundation in 1984, the foundation’s primary purpose was to support the Luverne Community Hospital.

In 2005 a large unrestricted estate gift was left to the foundation allowing the mission to expand into new areas. So the foundation reorganized as the Luverne Area Community Foundation with areas of interest in arts and humanities, community and civic affairs, social and economic growth, environment and beautification, community wellness, and people in addition to its original focus of health care.

A community foundation is 2 things:
A community – our friends, family and neighbors connected not only by geography and history but also by our collective interest in our quality of life and,
A foundation – a strategic platform that puts charitable dollars to work in effective and efficient ways.

Annual Report
Every year the foundation releases an annual report detailing grants awarded, gift received and other news. A copy of the last two reports can be found below.
